Sustainability Coordinator Job Position


Reports to the President of the Board

Scope of Responsibilities

The Sustainability Coordinator assists the Board of Directors with the management, implementation of programs, and communications of EAS+Y. The Coordinator is primarily responsible for implementing the membership program, coordinating volunteers, assisting in coordinating events and programs, and maintaining communication with partners and supporters. The position requires 10 hours per week. Hourly wage will be negotiated based on experience.

Specific Duties

Maintain donor, member relations, and the membership database

Coordinate volunteers for various programs and events, using Sign Up Genius

Assist in Zero Waste initiatives by directing volunteers at events, and coordinating with the zero waste committee on planning and documenting events

Send out bi-monthly newsletters to supporters using Constant Contact

Respond to emails and phone calls inquiries daily

Update social media accounts and the EAS+Y website, using WordPress


Interest and knowledge in sustainability

Knowledge, skills, and experience in database systems, social media management, proficiency in computer applications

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Organizational management experience

Available for monthly Board Meetings in the evenings

Willingness to learn and ability to be a self-starter

Access to computer and transportation


The Sustainability Coordinator is and throughout their tenure shall be an independent contractor and not an employee, partner or agent of EAS+Y.  As such, no benefits such as, but not limited to, vacation payment, retirement, health care or sick pay will be provided. EAS+Y shall not be responsible for withholding income or other taxes from the payments made to the Sustainability Coordinator. The Sustainability Coordinator shall be solely responsible for filing all returns and paying any income, social security or other tax levied upon or determined with respect to the payments made to him/her.
